Reaching one person at a time
Literacy United
The mission of Literacy United is to reach economically disadvantaged individuals who struggle in reading
“one person at a time.”

Annual summer intensive intervention sessions are tailored to fit the specific needs of each student.
Literacy United is Different
-
Literacy United reading programs are designed to meet the specific needs of individual children.
-
Our reading specialists have advanced degrees, training, and experience in helping learners who struggle.
-
Children and teens enrolled in Literacy United programs typically improve their reading level at twice the rate of children not receiving our support.
-
Results have been dramatically positive and academically significant thus far for those students involved in the Literacy United intervention program.
-
Our desire is to continue this trajectory of improved reading until each student reaches a reading and comprehension level that is commensurate with or exceeds their own grade level.

TEA is providing online accounts of $1,500 to parents of eligible students served by special education who have been impacted by COVID-19 school closures.
